"GOD'S IN HIS HEAVEN - OUT BEYOND THE SUN"
---
In a Kingdom somewhere out beyond the Sun.
Is the Christian’s home, when their life on earth is done.
Jesus promised us a Mansion when on earth we die.
It’s a place of awe and splendor, somewhere in the sky.
---
It was an early October morning in the year 2008.
When God swung open wide His Heaven's Gate.
June's weary shoulders felt his gentle touch.
As God's words of Love were softly spoken...
"June you have suffered long and much."
"The shackles of Alzheimer's are now broken!"
---
When our family circle is once again restored.
With June and mother Ellen as our guide.
We’ll walk in Heaven’s splendors, side by side.
With God's love for eternity as our reward.
In that Kingdom somewhere out beyond the Sun.

STAN'S NOTE: On Saturday morning, 13 February 2016, I awoke with most of the above poem outlined in my head...I am not claiming divine inspiration but this has never happened before...while it was very unusual to have this happen I can only assume it is the result of my love for June and my Christian faith...I immediately got out of bed and wrote down what I could remember before I would forget...later in the day, I reworked it into a more proper poetic format....below, is the exact reference to one of my favorite passages from the book of John that I briefly touched on in the above poem...As with most of my poetic efforts, it is a very short poem.

“In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:2 KJV)

Dianne Cogar - Springfield, Ohio - (11 October 2017): "Stan, your dream obviously took you back to a sober view of what you were feeling and witnessing at the time of your loss... it's as if your heart just recently called on you to put your vision and emotions into perspective... all of which were collected from around that painful time. Back when June and your sweet mom were ready to meet their maker, I think it would have been far too difficult for you to push yourself through the tears and heartache to write something as meaningful and lovely as this poem. You needed some time for healing before you could focus... YOUR POEM IS SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL."

June's Passing
After an almost 12 year journey into the shadows of Alzheimer's, early one morning in late October 2008, an exhausted June felt God's gentle touch on her shoulder and heard the words: "Come Home June!" As June lay like a wounded soldier on a battlefield, it was God's Angels that ushered June into a Heavenly Kingdom to the sound of a chorus of Angels...and into June's new home, a "Mansion on the Hilltop", where there is no pain, nor illness nor tears...June's funeral notice as published in the Minneapolis Star in October 2008 can be seen on this website in the drop down menu under the "In Memoriam" label - just Click on:
